Her creative work has garnered her recognition as a 2020 YoungArts Theatre Finalist and Winner and a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts Semifinalist.

Rice has used her talents in front of and behind the camera to be a tool of social justice and equity for women and people of color. She has directed two award-winning films (STAINED and Breakup Weekend) in her early directing career. Her most recent short film, Breakup Weekend, has been successful on the film festival circuit in 2023 gathering a working total of 11 nominations, 4 festival wins, and 5 official selections.
